Hong Kong Telephone

Beside a stylised T the symbol is derived from a wooden block used in Chinese temples, “muk jyu” in Cantonese (木魚) – a playful association to the telephone bell. The mark once adorned telephone booths and junction boxes across Hong Kong. It was an identity that enabled the growth of personal networks – something the budding financial centre required. A mark fated to the times.
